I too am eclectic in my tastes. My husband and I share music with the exception of his HEAVY metal and I must admit to enjoying some country, which he hates.

Sometimes I wonder if people at church would think of me differently if they knew how much I like Audioslave. There is a family that used to come to our home to watch football games and for New Years Parties. Since we bought Guitar Hero they have refused our invitations.

I'm a huge country fan!
But I love other types too. My first choice is country though.

If it has more than two notes and any discernible beat, odds are I'll listen to it. In fact I get a lot of comments from people at work about the eclecticism (check it out, that really is a word) of the music on my iPod.

I like anything that makes me want to get up and dance, or makes doing the dishes more fun.

I love disco, R&B and Classic Soul. My favorite band is Earth Wind and Fire. I like any music that reminds me of the great times I had at LDS youth dances in the early 90's.

I like everything, from bluegrass to doom metal. If I come across a band I don't enjoy much, I know from past experience that I probably just need to give it some time to grow on me. It's always the music that has to grow on you that you end up enjoying for the longest, anyway. So I never dismiss a band (or genre) as something that I don't like.

Latest fixations: My Morning Jacket, and the new Silversun Pickups.

I love practically everything: New Age, Classical, alternative, pop, rock, country, Church, indie, Broadway, protest, soft rock, rap, some metal, etc...

Music, to me, is one of the greatest things we have. In fact, I was reading something yesterday that hit me --it was from an article in the June 2009 Ensign. Elder Callister wrote this:
President Young said, “There is no music in hell, for all good music belongs to heaven.” It would be punishment enough to go to hell and not hear a note of music for all eternity.

I agree!

I hate metal (physically painful), a lot of opera (again, pain, from the sopranos), gangster rap (for obvious reasons), and some alternative (sounds like an industrial accident in progress). Other than that, I'll listen to just about anything. :-)
