An inspiring post! One of life's greatest challenges is to endure suffering well. Many carry heavy burdens--of mental or physical illness, poverty, loneliness, abuse, or sorrow--and often we don't know that those around us are suffering. As the hymn states, "In the quiet heart is hidden sorrow that the eye can't see."

I have learned that as we yoke ourselves to Christ, He will help us carry our burdens. I have also learned that we can cast our worries and cares on Him, for He has already carried them. His mercy and loving kindness for those who suffer is evident throughout Scripture.

Elder Maxwell not only taught powerfully but he lived an exemplary life as he found peace amid suffering. President Kimball and President Hinckley also showed us how to face difficult trials with faith and courage. I love Paul's words,"... for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content. "
