[...] Clancy shares this poem, with this introduction: There are times in life where I’ve felt like I’m floundering… bobbing along with no direction and accomplishing very little. It was during one of those times, a January in my life, that I realized, as I walked past my flower garden wherein lay the frozen roots of perennial flowers and shrubs, that something happens to those roots in those cold, dark times that cycle through every year. From that life-metaphor came this poem which helped me have the faith to get through my own dark, cold cycle in life. [...]

I love the principle of partnership. I love being a woman. I love how you have captured here that choosing to be cared for is not a sign of weakness, but can be a choice made in strength.

I loved this post too, Clancy. It does not diminish a woman to appreciate her husband. Or any man for that matter.

Wow! I really am moved by this post! As a "more mature" woman I'm amazed at the insight & depth of wisdom here in Clancy's post. I'm also grateful for the teaching it brings to me, the perspective. Thank you!

What beautiful insight. Thank you for sharing! I also relish being taken care of and appreciate my husband's willingness to take on that role.
