The Manger of Bethlehem by Rob Gardner - sacred Christmas music

This is a beautiful new Christmas song, with music written by Rob Gardner. The text was written by Josiah G. Holland (1819-1881). The boy soprano performing in this recording is Josh Mortenson, along with the Spire Chorus and the London Symphony Orchestra.

Editor’s note: I love the video that shows Joseph’s urgent and tender care of Mary, carrying her to where the baby Jesus would be born. Of course we don’t know exactly how the events of that day unfolded, but I was moved by the care and concern and elation at this wondrous event portrayed in the video clips. I also love the devotion and rejoicing reflected in the faces of those who saw the star — who clearly recognized what it meant — and who came to worship the Messiah in the manger.
