Drag and drop a PowerPoint file into Google Slides
Use this method if your PowerPoint file is on a local drive.
Open Google Docs.
and slides is not already selected, select it in the top-left corner of the application Menu (three bars).
Select from the menu slides.
In the upper right corner of the Current presentations select section File selection (files).
In which Open a folder screen, select Download.
Open the folder where your PowerPoint file is saved. Drag the PowerPoint file into the folder Drag a file here Section.
You can also use the blue file selector button to find your local document via the operating system’s file manager.
The file will download and can then be opened or edited like any other slide document.
Upload the PowerPoint file to Google Drive
This method also works for files located on a local drive.
Open Google Drive.
Select in the top left corner art nouveau > download file.
Navigate to and select the file you want to download.
You will see a download message, then the file will appear in your Google Drive files list. Select the file.
Select from the menu at the top of the screen Open with google slides.
The converted presentation will appear in the Google Slides editing environment and you can use it as usual.
Open a Google Slides Powerpoint file
Use this method if your PowerPoint file is already on your Google Drive.
Open Google Docs.
and slides is not already selected, select it in the top-left corner of the application Menu (three bars).
Select from the menu slides.
Select the at the top of the screen down arrow and select a document class to display.
Select your Powerpoint file. You will see a dialog box asking if you want to open the file Only see fashion or Edit like Google Slides. Choose Edit like Google Slides.
You can now work with the folder as usual.
