When creating a document in a word processor, you may want the page number to appear on each page of the document. To do this, click on the link that corresponds to the word processor you are using and follow the given steps.
Microsoft Word
Word 2007 and later
Open Microsoft Word.
Click the button insertion in the toolbar.
Click the button page number and choose where you want to insert the page number.
If you want to change the page number format, select that Format page numbers… Possibility.
Word 2003 and earlier
Open Microsoft Word.
Click on insertion and select page numbers.
In the Page Numbers field, specify where you want the page numbers to appear. For example, bottom right or top right of the page.
If you want to change the display format of the numbers, e.g. For example, to display Roman numerals, click format Button.
When you are finished adjusting the settings, click Ok.
Google documents
Open Google Docs.
Click on insertion.

OpenOffice Writer
OpenOffice author.
Click on insertion, areasand then click page number.
The steps above only insert the page number where the cursor is currently located. If you want the page number to appear on each of your pages, follow the steps below.
OpenOffice author.
Click on Insert, header or footer. Choose In your thoughts if you want the page number to appear at the top (header) of every page. Choose Footer if you want the page number to appear at the bottom (footer) of each page.
Click on By default for the desired header or footer.
Place your cursor in the header or footer area that appears on the first page and follow the steps above to insert a page number.
