Former Qatar princess Kasia Gallanio is dead, she was only 45 years old. On Sunday, police found her body at her home in Marbella, Spain, reports the newspaper Le Parisien. The circumstances of his death are mysterious.
Born in Los Angeles, Gallanio is married to 73-year-old Abdelaziz bin Khalifa Al-Thani, the uncle of the Emir of Qatar, with whom she is involved in a legal battle for the custody of their three daughters (two of whom are twins, aged 17). One of the daughters from France raised the alarm. She turned to the relevant authorities, as she had not had contact with her mother for four days, the police said “El Mundo”.
According to the paper, the police, accompanied by a porter, entered the house where they found Gallanio’s body in bed and, on preliminary examination, found that there were no signs of violence or outside interference.

Although an autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday, preliminary tests appear to indicate that Gallanio’s death may be due to a drug overdose, French media reports. In 2004, the Polish-born American married Abdelaziz Al Thani (73), the multi-billionaire and uncle of the Emir of Qatar. She lived in luxury. But the couple were married for only a few years. The legal battle between Gallanio and Abdelaziz bin Khalifa Al-Thani continues for a decade. Al-Thani was also charged with the sexual abuse of one of his daughters who, according to French media, was between 9 and 15 years old at the time of the incidents. An accusation that the former Qatar minister has always denied.
It is said that the couple’s three daughters live in a villa in Paris with their father, who owns a huge fortune. He settled in France after resigning as oil and finance minister in 1992.
