On Tuesday evening, a restaurant owner in Graubünden woke up. “Heard glass breakage,” he says for 20 minutes. He immediately looked out the window and saw a man with a flashlight in his hand, about to put a few bottles of alcohol in front of the door. The burglar probably wanted to pick up the bottles then, says the bartender. But that didn’t happen. “I called the police immediately.” The man was temporarily arrested by the Graubünden cantonal police. According to the police report, the amount of the crime is around 500 francs, and in addition to alcohol, the man apparently also wanted to steal food.
The innkeeper looks at the matter quite calmly. “I feel sorry for the burglar, he’s poor.” The man was obviously drunk and probably wanted a drink. Apparently, the Algerian is only drunk. According to the owner, nothing was damaged except the glass through which he entered the restaurant. According to the owner of the burglar, he was also not interested in the nearby iPad.
The same restaurant was broken in early last week. Food and drink were stolen. The innkeeper assumes it’s the same man. The Graubünden cantonal police are working with the prosecution to establish whether the burglar is still responsible for other crimes.
