Over 550 vehicles and thousands of spectators: Sarnen is bursting at the seams at Oldtimer in Obwalden.
The myth continues and will perpetuate this year: when vintage cars are in Obwalden, the weather is also at its best. Thousands admired the beautiful carriages of the old days in the center of the village.

It is simply impossible to estimate how many people actually made a pilgrimage to Sarnen to admire more than 550 vintage cars parked throughout the village. There were tens of thousands. Sarnen was one living, happy anthill on Pentecost Saturday. Young and old, families, couples, car enthusiasts and guests dressed in antique costumes went out into the street. Tables and benches everywhere, where people drank and ate, in many places to the accompaniment of music. Plain and simple: it was one big festival of happy folk.
The popular Pentecost party could not be held for two years, which probably helped that so many people came this year. The organizer, Ruedi Müller, was also delighted on Saturday night. “It was a fantastic day, great atmosphere. Personally, I also have the impression that this year has attracted even more fans of classic cars than in previous years. “

And the myth that O-iO is always beautiful was confirmed once again. The weather forecast had been a bit mixed up before, but Petrus probably wanted to shine as much as the polished bodies on Saturday. The vintage cars took Sarnen to the last place.

A special event this year was the exhibition of old fire engines, old buses and trucks as a counterpoint to modern vehicles with alternative electric or hydrogen drives on the Bahnhofstrasse. Organizer Ruedi Müller knows that test drives and rides have been very popular with both these new vehicles and oldtimers. And the campaign with the O-iO forest was also well received. By noon, more than 50 tree sponsors have already been sold. After a two-year break, the traditional soap dish race also took place:
