After a secret report from the broadcaster, ITV was exposed. Now he has been convicted.
For the first time in Britain, a man was sent to prison for renting a bed in exchange for sex. Christopher C., 53, must be jailed for twelve months, a court in Guildford, southern England, ruled on Tuesday.
The convict offered “girls in need” free accommodation on the Internet from the age of 16: In return, they should “cook, clean, do laundry and maybe more.” The man told them that each of them must wear a bikini at home and serve him sexually. Among other things, he demanded bondage and sadomaso practices from them, as reported by the Daily Mail. Three young women, one of them homeless, accepted the proposal from May to November 2018. C. was unaware, however, that two of them were journalists who seemed to accept the offer.

Even after ITV journalist Jeremy Kyle confronted him after a secretly filmed operation, the man continued. It wasn’t until the police began investigating the case that the third victim came to light thanks to the sight of C’s cell phone. She was a homeless woman who worked as a prostitute from time to time. C. wrote to her that she had to sleep in his bed, pose naked for him, and be whipped and tied up in order to live with him. The woman later stated that sex also took place.
Judge Robert Fraser said the 53-year-old was abusing women who had no choice. The man was targeting vulnerable women on purpose. Even when investigative reporters caught up with him, he kept an ad on the Internet.
